No Casualties in Bulgaria in Massive Earthquake, but Ravens Start Attacking

No casualties or injuries have been registered in Bulgaria as a result of the strong

Raven, Caddebostan, Istanbul

earthquake that jolted the country at 2:58 am on Tuesday, the Civil Protection Service reported.

The earthquake had a magnitude of about 5.9-6.0 on the Richter scale, up from the initial reports of 5.8, announced Chief Commissar Nikolay Nikolov, head of the Fire Brigade and Civil Protection Directorate, as cited by Focus.

The earthquake was followed almost immediately by two aftershocks of almost equal strength.

Ravens reportedly started attacked people in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia on Tuesday, with local media suggesting the birds’ unusual behavior may have something to do with the relatively strong earthquake that shook the city earlier that day.

Some ten people have been attacked by ravens near the Rila hotel in downtown Sofia, the BGNES news agency reports.

A reporter has said that he has defended himself with the help of his microphone, as he has been allegedly attacked by two ravens.

At least three people have been injured.
